Sr. Kate Fitzgerald Makes Perpetual Vows

On Saturday, July 25, 2020, the Congregation of Divine Providence witnessed Sister Kate Clare Fitzgerald profess her final vows. Sr. Kate has been teaching at St. Ann’s Catholic School in Midland for the past six years.  She is a member of a congregation of sisters that serve in the San Angelo Diocese and other areas in the United States and Mexico.

She made her Vows of Poverty, Celibacy and Obedience for life.  Sr. Kate makes these vows at a time that is uncertain and chaotic.  The Covid pandemic has crowded our awareness with fear and doubts.  Yet, she holds a great trust in a Provident God and lives out this trust as she serves Catholic children and teaches them to live spiritual virtues.  It is a great witness to place one’s life at the service of Christ and the Church.

Sr. Kate chose Jeremiah 29:11 as one of her readings for her Mass. ” I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU. PLANS TO PROSPER YOU AND NOT TO HARM YOU. PLANS TO GIVE YOU HOPE AND A FUTURE. “
