St. Ann’s Family Fair Cancelled

ST. ANN’S FAMILY FAIR CANCELLED                                                            July 8, 2020

St. Ann’s Family Fair, which was to have been held on the last weekend of September 2020, has been cancelled, according to the pastor, Msgr. Larry Droll.  “We are very concerned with the safety of all the guests, volunteers and employees, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.”

St. Ann’s Family Fair is a Midland tradition; this was to have been the 72nd annual fair.  It usually features carnival rides, booths with games for children, bingo, food booths and so much more.  The parishioners spend weeks constructing the fair and hosting the weekend activities.  “The fair builds up fellowship within the parish and at the same time serves the whole Midland community.”  Income from the fair helps the parish to support St. Ann’s Catholic School.

“We want to thank all those who were already working on the 2020 fair, and all those generous supporters in the Midland community,” said Msgr. Droll.  “We look forward to next year, with renewed hope!”

In place of the Family Fair, St. Ann’s will have a “Fairless Family Fair.”  All who would have supported the fair or participated in it will be asked to think about how much they would have spent on this event.  They could then donate that amount to the parish by check or on-line giving. This will continue to assist the parish to support St. Ann’s Catholic School.
