March 30th Update

March 30, 2020 St. Ann’s Parish
Dear Parishioners:
Hope you are well! It is hard from me to sit a home and be still! I would imagine it is for you too. But I can detect some blessing in it, as I calm down and become more reflective! A good book on the passion of Jesus is helping and all the positive inspirational comments on Facebook.
What about Holy Week? Well, since we are not allowed to have more than ten people in a room, the services will be simplified. We will broadcast on St. Ann’s Parish Facebook and on our parish website.
PALM SUNDAY (April 5)—Mass in English at 10:45am
Misa en Español 1:00pm
No palms will be available for distribution to the faithful, due to coronavirus safety measures. People are also encouraged to cut branches or flowers from their yard at home. It will be the presider’s intention to bless all the branches of those watching in their homes. Use them as you would blessed palms.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION—There are no group penance services in Midland this Holy Week. Individual confessions are heard at St. Ann’s Wednesday, April 8, 5:00pm to 6:30pm, and Saturday, April 11, 4:00pm to 5:30pm.
These Confessions are heard in the Prayer Garden between the Mary Center and Parlor if the weather is nice. If weather is inclement, the Confessions will be in the Commons.
Please practice social distancing in line, standing six feet apart. There should be no gathering in groups.
Please stand in front of the confessional screen to make your Confession; there is no sitting, kneeling or face-to-face confessions.
Take to heart this message from Bishop Sis: To those who have no recourse to sacramental absolution: When a person finds it impossible to receive sacramental absolution, they obtain forgiveness of sins, even mortal ones, through a sincere request for forgiveness, coming from a love of God, with perfect contrition and the firm resolution to make a sacramental Confession as soon as possible (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1452).
More news later on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. Msgr. Larry Droll, pastor
