March 27 Update

March 27, 2020 ST. ANN’S MIDLAND
Dear Parishioners:
As we continue to spend a lot of time at home to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, I want to assure you that you are remembered in our thoughts and prayers at St. Ann’s.
There are some opportunities in the area of faith formation that I would like to call to your attention.
Walking with Purpose, our women’s group, has on-line resources that those in the program are using. They also produce an on-line bible study for anyone, to help you prepare daily for the following Sunday.
Our men’s group, That Man Is You, has its weekly program on-line, with Tuesday morning small group discussions at 7:00am.
Of course, FORMED is a “Catholic Netflix” of shows and studies about our faith. You can get to it through; the code is MG3Y3K. It’s free!
Our Coordinator for Religious Education of Children is in touch with the parents of the children in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and the traditional Parish School of Religion. We are not sure when First Holy Communion will be just yet, but re-assure the children it will happen!
Children in St. Ann’s School are receiving their religion classes on-line, as well as other spiritual opportunities.
Our Coordinator of Youth Ministry is using social media to reach the youth in Edge and Life Teen.
Our Director of Religious Education for the Spanish-speaking is staying in touch with those in various classes and ministries in which that group is engaged.
Those in the RCIA are in touch with their main catechist, as they continue their preparation to become Catholics, which will happen for most on the Vigil of Pentecost, May 30. Adult Confirmation has been postponed to May 21.
The next classes in English and Spanish for parents and godparents who want to have their children baptized are not scheduled until April 19. We will see if we can meet as a group by then!
Some in-person ministries must be suspended at this time, like Communion to the homebound and hospital visitation. Let us support one another in prayer.
For information on any of the above programs, call the Parish Office at 432-682-6303 during the morning hours.
Here is something new when you are thinking about church support at this time: St. Ann’s Parish now offers Text-to-Give. You can text an amount to 432-286-1283, and enter Church to donate money for your weekly contribution. Your transaction will be processed through the Online Giving account associated with the phone number. If your phone number is not recognized, you can continue without an account, associate your number with an existing account, or create an account. If you text to the number just an amount, it will default to the weekly contribution. If you would like to donate to other funds, all you need to do is type the following for each individual funds:
For Sister’s Charity type Poor
For SVDP type SVDP
For Youth Activity Center type Youth
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support in these difficult times!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Msgr. Larry J. Droll
