April 15- Update

Dear Parishioners: April 15, 2020
May grace and peace be yours in abundance.” 1 Peter 1.2 I pray that you and your family had a wonderful Easter weekend! We are in some tough times, but Jesus has been victorious and shares his life with us. I once heard it said that even Good Friday didn’t destroy his weekend!
St. Ann’s Parish Pastoral Council met last night, on zoom of course. These dedicated folks are keeping on top of things and I am so grateful for their love and dedication to our parish. We spent a good amount of time sharing how the coronavirus shut-down is affecting us and our families, as well as the drop in oil prices and the economic situation.
The members expressed appreciation to St. Ann’s staff and volunteers making Care Calls to the elderly and to the priests for having Confessions and live-streaming daily Masses on Facebook. They would like to see this continue.
We highlighted what our religious education coordinators have been doing to keep their program participants engaged. We talked about the assistance to the needy in which the parish is
providing some help. First Communions, Confirmations and Rites of Initiation are all being pushed into the future; they will happen once we can re-open the church to the congregation again.
We noted the financial impact to the parish, not having the steady income from the collection. We are fortunate to have some savings to carry us through a few months; but we encourage people to give on-line if possible. We have applied for the government’s Paycheck Protection Program which will assist us to keep our employees, although we have not heard yet that our application has been granted.
Our Youth Activity Center construction is steady and our project to get ample water to the building has just been approved. The budget for the next fiscal year for the parish is being prepared and we are trying to plan for the Family Fair. Life goes on, by the grace of God!
Stay safe. Stay home. Stay in touch!
